Version 1.3.3 (3 October 2026)

This is mostly a maintenance update, with bug fixes and improvements to the user interface. For Windows tablet users, it fixes a critical bug, so touch input now works correctly. Pen input isn’t supported yet, but it’s on our radar, along with a native Windows on Arm build.

What’s changed:

  • New Lessons & Exercises window, showcasing the different trainers available in MidiStickers. You can open it from the initial menu or from the Load Layout window.
  • Action buttons in menus are now highlighted in blue, making key actions easier to spot.
  • On tablets, you can now pinch to resize widgets, and drag and drop now works correctly.
  • General UI improvement in menus, with better element sizing for touch input (*). We’ll keep improving the touchscreen experience in the next update.
  • Custom interval patterns in the Harmony Explorer now show correctly when the widget piano is hidden
  • Upper Structure chords in the 12-Keys Chord Trainer now are shown correctly when different chord orders are selected.

Version 1.3.1 (07 September 2026)

This update introduces significant improvements to Annotation Mode, including support for drawing rectangles and adding text directly on screen. A new annotation toolbar also allows the mode to be controlled entirely with the mouse.

Improvements:

  • Annotation Mode has been significantly improved and now supports drawing rectangles and adding text directly over the screen.
  • Double Staff margins are now slightly larger by default.

Bug Fixes:

  • Fixed an issue with the Spanish translation that could prevent the “Load Layout” window from opening.

Version 1.3.0 (25 August 2026)

This update significantly expands MidiStickers’ learning content, introducing a new Sight Reading Trainer, a complete Lessons & Exercises environment, dozens of new lessons and exercises, several improvements for the Auto-Accompaniment widget, Italian localization and UI improvements.

New features and content

  • Sight Reading Trainer: new music-reading trainer with 60+ exercises inspired by Georges Dandelot’s “Manuel pratique pour l’étude des clés de sol, fa et ut”.
  • Lessons & Exercises: A new learning environment that complements the existing trainers and exercises with concise theoretical lessons, covering topics from fundamentals to advanced content. Includes 30+ lessons.
  • Auto-Accompaniment widget new features built-in selection of Jazz Standards and exercises.
  • Expanded exercise library: New exercises covering chord voicings, progressions, and scales.
  • Auto-accompaniment widget now features a built-in selection of Jazz Standards and exercises
  • Italian translation: Italian is now available as a new interface language.

Improvements

  • Progression Trainer: Optional bass auto-accompaniment is now available for all progressions.
  • Improved UI workflow: Reduced reliance on keyboard gestures for faster workflows.
  • Widget settings are now accessible simply by hovering over a widget.
  • Annotation mode now have clickable erase/exit buttons in addition to keyboard shortcuts.
  • Virtual Piano and Virtual Fretboard now have clickable exit buttons in addition to keyboard shortcuts
  • MIDI Settings: Settings are now saved between sessions.
  • Tutorials interface has been improved
  • Lessons & Exercises: The former “Guided Practice Mode” has been renamed to “Lessons & Exercises.”
  • Assorted bug fixes and improvements across various widgets.
